The European Patent Office (EPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) have launched the Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC), a global classification system for patent documents. Thanks to the joint efforts of both organizations, it has been developed this common and international classification system for technical documents, particularly for patent publications, which will be used by both offices during the patenting process.
